Living comedy legend Jerry Lewis spent his 86th birthday in style...at 92nd Street Y, where he and Richard Belzer traded quips on a Inside the Actor's Studio-esque discussion about the comedian's body of work.

Of course, the fun didn't end there, but continued over to the Friars Club, where the O.G. Nutty Professor held court over a host of well-wishing comics and celebs.

Mr. Lewis, who had flown from L.A. to New York just for the occasion, was not in the mood to talk to anyone except close friends.

The notoriously closed-off club had a "no-press" policy, as evidenced by the fact that the same "leaked" info was published everywhere: Mr. Lewis sat in the Frank Sinatra room with Mr. Belzer and biographer Robert Klein, reported every outlet not invited to the bash.

Sitting in the back of the infamous roasting hall, Mr. Lewis refused to answer questions not only from the press, but from other comedians as well. Robert Smigel from Saturday Night Live's TV Funhouse gave up after waiting an hour to congratulate Mr. Lewis, according to Gatecrasher. David Letterman's bandleader Paul Schaffer was forced to shout his "Happy birthdays" at Mr. Lewis from across the room.

Since Mr. Lewis is still an inexplicably huge deal in France, it makes sense that his food would feature a Frenchie chef: Daniel Boulud created a special twist on the "jambon-beurre" sandwich one meter long, with French Flags stuck in the ham-and-baguette delicacy. The food was delivered to Mr. Lewis at the Hotel Plaza Athenee, according to Page Six.
