The Design Industries Foundation Fighting AIDS—DIFFA, to those in the know—has planned a multiday fund-raiser in honor of Ralph Lauren’s executive vice president Alfredo Paredes that began last Thursday with a cocktail celebration at Pier 94, a public viewing of the Architectural Digest Home Design Show to benefit AIDS research all weekend, and, tonight, a schmancy gala with silent auction. How to get there? Walk, like, as far west as you can go without falling into the river—and as the drinks will be flowing, make sure to keep those heels planted.
