the eight-day week

To Do Sunday: Be In Your Bonnet

Be sure to rest up before attempting to bobby-pin on your glorious monstrosity of a bonnet—it’s Easter parade time! Unlike the sorts of parades that shut down Midtown in a show of organized force—and we’re still recovering from St. Patrick’s Day’s one-two punch of local dignitaries and Guinness-gorging tourists—Easter brings a lackadaisical procession of the well-haberdashed strolling down Fifth Avenue like it’s the Champs-Élysées. We’re hot-gluing some of the leftover feathers from the pillow fight onto a mesh frame and topping it all with some turquoise satin—blow us a kiss as we march! (Hey, we couldn’t get into the St. Patrick’s Day parade, and we do love being the center of attention …)

Fifth Avenue between 49th and 57th streets, from 10 a.m.
