It’s been a long road for Mary Harron, the director whose gleefully misogynistic American Psycho taught us to properly appreciate business-card stock. She’s done a little of this, a little of that, directing episodes of prestige TV shows and a biopic of Bettie Page. And now she’s back in the multiplex (well, the arts multiplex, which has two screens) with The Moth Diaries, which, like American Psycho before it, is one of those are-the-murders-fake-or-real psychological thrillers that still traffics in plenty of gore. She’s screening the picture at the Tribeca Grand tonight, accompanied by her star, Lily Cole, the Cambridge-educated model. Some people have all the luck!
Tribeca, invitation only.
