HBO isn’t just for shows about 20-something ladies and fantasy creatures: there’s plenty there for the benefit-attending demographic who thinks “Fort Greene” is a historical battlement. For instance, tonight brings the Museum of Modern Art premiere of the pay-cable network’s Renée Fleming: A YoungArts MasterClass, a much-portmanteau’d documentary wherein the gracious Ms. Fleming meets with young opera singers. In the program, she’s trying to help foster their talent and provide mentoring advice (future MasterClass subjects are to include photographer Bruce Weber and playwright John Guare). Tonight, she’ll meet with opera devotees to discuss the project—and, we can only hope, sing a few bars.
Museum of Modern Art. Invitation only.
