We’re cashing in our first summer Friday of the year tomorrow and headed to the Hamptons. But those who prefer going farther east than Out East can spend the weekend combining our previously unrelated interests: yachting and art collecting. Art Greenwich, in Connecticut, is to take place on a boat docked in Greenwich Harbor; today features a private preview of the vessel’s art holdings (by invitation only, naturally) and some autobiographical performance art by local art dealer Fernando Luis Alvarez. The fair’s going on all weekend—with a schmancy party on Saturday—so take your Dramamine and make sure you know where the lifeboats are!
Greenwich Harbor, 500 Steamboat Road (Greenwich), tonight’s First View at 6:30pm for invited guests, Collectors Invitational at 7:30pm for priority ticket-holders, performance at 8:30pm, with events continuing through the weekend; tickets and information can be found at expoships.com/current_fairs/2012/greenwich/about.html
