the eight-day week

To Do Thursday: Hello (Again), Norma Jean

Remember the Marilyn Monroe Vanity Fair cover? No, not that one. Not that one. The current cover, which advertises never-before-seen nudes of the legendary actress, was just the teaser for Lawrence Schiller’s Marilyn & Me Taschen tome and simultaneous exhibit at Steven Kasher Gallery. The photographer spent intimate moments with Monroe prior to her death, and tonight makes hay of those encounters with a signing and reception at the gallery. If there’s anything we learned from the life and death of Monroe, it’s that every man who ever met her should be able to make money off of her!

Steven Kasher Gallery, 521 West 23rd Street; public reception and signing, 6pm; information can be found at stevenkasher.com.
