Philip Seymour Hoffman is currently playing an unusually young Willy Loman on Broadway, and once you’ve seen Arthur Miller’s tribute to the American theater’s lack of subtlety, you’re going to want to discuss it. (What did Mike Nichols’s directorial choices mean? Is there any chance that cutie Andrew Garfield could be Mr. Hoffman’s son in real life?) Tony Kushner, himself a frequently revived playwright, leads a conversation with other people smarter and more dramaturgically experienced than you at 92Y. You’re in experienced hands, symposium-goers: Mr. Kushner is editor of Mr. Miller’s Collected Plays for the Library of America—though we’re sure he didn’t have to cut a word!

Kaufmann Concert Hall, 1395 Lexington Avenue, 8pm; tickets and information can be found at 92y.org.
