Last night at the Core Club, employees of The New York Observer were faced with the quixotic challenge of getting their feet in the door of New York’s most exclusive coterie hotspot. The difference being that we were actually invited for Monday evening’s soiree, a party for The Commercial Observer‘s Real Estate Power 100 list.

While you can read all about the festivities here, we wanted to spotlight some of the more colorful people at the party, sponsored by 32BJ SEIU, Berdon LLP, Broofield, Cadillac, Piaget, Studley and TD Bank.

Call her the City Council mis-speaker: During her speech at The Power 100 party, Ms. Quinn thanked The Commercial Observer's Editor-in-Chief....Gotham Sederstrom. We don't mind, maybe she was actually thanking the city of New York!

Pulling double duty as both broker for Massey Knakal as well as a Commercial Observer columinist, we almost gave him our own award...for Best Hair.

Avison Young's broker was the life of the party. Which is saying a lot, because real estate moguls know how to get down.

The president of Rockrose Development was on his way out after receiving his award. The firm's heir apparent apologized for his early departure, as he was on his way to Anita Durst's Chashama consignment gala.

When we caught up with the top suit of Newmark Grubb Knight Frank, we remarked that we were surprised to learn that he had some interesting hobbies. For instance, who knew that he was a fencer?

Luckily, there were no OWS protesters at the party to rain on the parade of Brookfield Properties CEO.
