Lady Gaga is cruisin' for a bruisin'

Poor Madonna. First she gets hit for showing a little bit of nip, now she's got to contend with going in the ring with the formidable foe, Lady Gaga. It turns out Madge mashed up the Lady's classic "Born This Way" with her own "Express Yourself" (and "She's Not Me!") during a recent rehearsal, perhaps in an attempt to prove that the two songs do share more in common than the fact that they were sung by bleached blondes.

But Ms. Gaga isn't going down without a fight: she told fans on stage (is it just a coincidence both ladies are on world tours right now?) in New Zealand that, "Things are really different than they were 25 years ago, and that's what makes “Born This Way” so relevant for me." This was taken to be a veiled reference to Madge's surfaced slight, which of course made the queen of Expressing Yourself very angry indeed...Madonna even sent down her karma gods to knock Lady Gaga into a concussed state when a backup dancer hit her in the face with a pole.

Ms. Gaga tweeted out her bruised face this afternoon, but was it just us, or did the photo seem less of a signal of defeat and more of a "Come at me, girl!"
