To Do Friday: Stream of Consciousness

Paloma Herrera

Enough partygoing! We’re ready to be a passive spectator, and there are no movies out we’re dying to see—Snow White and the Huntsman just brings up bad memories of scary Disney flicks and boring Utah governors running for president. We’re happy to check out the American Ballet Theatre’s production of The Bright Stream tonight, conducted by Charles Barker and starring Paloma Herrera and Marcelo Gomes. The dance is a comic series of misunderstandings set during a Russian harvest festival. As long as there’s a happy ending—if we have to take a weekend off from the Hamptons, we need to go home dancing!

Metropolitan Opera House, Lincoln Center, 7:30pm; tickets and information can be found at metoperafamily.org.
