To Do Monday: Out Like a Lambda

Judith Regan.

The best gay fiction we’ve read recently is Chad Harbach’s The Art of Fielding (oops! Spoiler!), so we’re looking forward to getting some new beach-read recommendations at tonight’s Lambda Literary Awards. West-coast chronicler Armistead Maupin and feminist heroine Kate Millett are to be honored by a full slate of presenters including Food Network host Ted Allen, New York Times muser Frank Bruni and actress Olympia Dukakis. Judith Regan will be there, and she may be in the right place. If there’s one thing gay men (readers or no) love, it’s an indomitable, salty diva making a comeback!

Awards ceremony, CUNY Graduate Center, Proshansky Auditorium, 365 Fifth Avenue, 7pm; after-party, Slate, 54 West 21st Street, 9:30pm; tickets and information can be found at lambdaliterary.org/awards.
