Most steamy summer days we can barely work up an appetite for more than a very light salad, maybe the Master Cleanse, and seven white-wine spritzers—but we’re willing to make an exception for tonight’s Summer in the City restaurant tasting benefiting City Harvest. The food-fest, featuring munchies from places like Dinosaur Bar-B-Que, Luke’s Lobster Bar and La Esquina, is put together by City Harvest’s young professionals group, and consequently, the dining is a little less La Grenouille, a little more Meatball Shop. But, hey, summer is laden with the memories of casual barbecues, so we’re happy to break our fast with a bunch of fried and grilled treats from the city’s emerging culinary talents!
Metropolitan Pavilion, 125 West 18th Street, VIP Hour 6:30pm, tasting and silent auction 7:30pm; tickets and information can be found at cityharvest.org.
