Wearing neither sequins nor jeans at an event co-hosted by Sequin and Jean Shafiroff, Ms. Gordon strikes the perfect balance between gala-fundraiser fuddy-duddy and summery over-casual. With an oversized, novel sun hat and a simple frock, Ms. Gordon looks as though she came from the beach in the sort of fantasy whereby “coming from the beach” doesn’t imply smeary suntan lotion and messed-up hair.
