Those kicking off an early weekend in the Hamptons—and take them while you can, beach bums!—will be well-advised to check out yet another art fair Out East, this one infused with the whiff of novelty! It’s the inaugural edition of Art Southampton. The whole weekend, presented by Art Miami as a fundraiser for the Ross School’s scholarship fund, is to feature at least one ooh-la-la exclusive; the debut of HEAARTBEAT, a documentary about the late sculptor John Chamberlain. Tonight’s VIP preview includes a screening as well as an address by Chamberlain’s stepdaughter Alexandra Fairweather—and cocktails and canapes, but you, having been to a Hamptons arts fair or two in your time, already knew that.
Elks Lodge, 605 County Road 39 (Southampton), VIP preview tonight, cocktails at 6pm, screening of documentary at 7:30pm, tickets and information can be found at art-southampton.com.
