To Do Friday: It’s Mill Art Time

If it’s a weekend, we must be indulging our artistic side in the Hamptons! Who needs New York’s museums, galleries and plethora of local artists? The East End has the social swirl art thrives on (even if our most significant purchase, ever, at a Hamptons gallery was a wicker-framed gelatin print of sand dollars resting on the arm of an Adirondack chair). Today brings a tour of artists’ studios put on by the New York Foundation for the Arts. See how the artistic half, including Mary Heilmann, Barry Holden and Nina Yankowitz, works, and check out a sculpture installation at the Water Mill Center. This is not the city, so you won’t go hungry while contemplating aesthetics; lunch will be provided for attendees of the NYFA tour, and then you’ll adjourn to a fabulous private home to check out a dance performance. Exclusivity—the very element that allows art to thrive!

Bridgehampton, invitation only.
