the eight-day week

To Do Friday: Robert’s Rules

Amy Winehouse passed away, and tonight her parents hit the Hamptons to host a benefit in her memory. Their Amy Winehouse Foundation supports music education for needy children, and will bring guests including fashion designer Vivienne Tam and celebrity sex therapist Dr. Ruth Westheimer to celebrate the legacy of one of her generation’s most notable voices … Meanwhile, historian Robert Caro’s reading from the newest doorstop-sized installment of his Lyndon Johnson biography, The Passage of Power, at the Hampton Library in Bridgehampton. If you’re having trouble getting started, well, reading the prior three volumes might help … but so might having this one read to you!

Amy Winehouse Foundation, Southampton, invitation only; Robert Caro, Hampton Library, 2478 Main Street (Bridgehampton), 5pm.
