the eight-day week

To Do Saturday: Euro Zone

It’s a night in Monaco—but don’t worry, you don’t need to call in a favor to get on someone’s flight from Teterboro. It’s “Monaco” in the sense that your high school prom was “a night at the Oscars”: a fantastically themed occasion requiring you to step not a foot outside your comfort zone (the Hamptons, naturally). The organizers of this benefit for the Southampton Hospital’s Jenny and John Paulson Emergency Department have brought three Formula One racing cars (onto which you must try your very hardest not to spill your pinot grigio). Chuck Scarborough, of NBC’s New York affiliate, is to host (without onetime co-host Sue Simmons, sadly, a position he’s grown accustomed to of late).

Under the tents on the corner of Wickapogue and Old Town roads (Southampton), 6:30pm; tickets and information can be found at (631) 726-8700 ext. 3 or http://www.southamptonhospital.org.
