Sunday night’s Golden Globes were all about statements, both verbal and in garb; from Jodi Fosters’ coming-out (again?) speech to Emily Blunt’s magnificent Michael Kors gown, everyone had something to say.
A beauty in blush, Kerry Washington’s sheer and embroidered Miu Miu dress was the highlight of the evening.
The Hunger Games heroine, Jennifer Lawrence was at loss of fashion-verbiage in her lipstick red Dior Haute Couture gown as she told Ryan Seacrest during a E! interview, “I don’t know what ‘haute’ means, but I had to say it.”Though it lacked a precise fit, Jessica Chastain’s minty-blue gown from Clavin Klein was borderline-brilliant; as it highlighted her impeccable complexion and hair.
Jessica Alba in a curve-grabbing coral getup from Dior decorated with diamonds on the décolleté shimmered in a sea of lackluster outfits during the awards. Equally as interesting,
Amanda Seyfried was swirl of lace in a gathered panel Givenchy Couture dress.
Few risks were taken, the security blanket of a ball-gown and sweetheart neckline were undeniable that night.
One who did go bold was Lucy Liu in a floral Carolina Herrera, a mega-skirted gown that mimicked a ottoman from versailles. We commend you Lucy for your brave choice, after all Jodie once said “Normal is not something to aspire to, it is something to get away from”.
