Gwyneth Paltrow really can do it all--cookbooks, sporadic TV appearances, cameos in The Avengers, and now livening up late-summer Hamptons premieres! Ms. Paltrow dropped by a screening of Jake Gyllenhaal's upcoming cop thriller End of Watch (sponsored by The Hollywood Reporter and Samsung Galaxy SIII) in an ultra-casual teal-and-navy frock, with her hair artfully crimped and an insouciant blend of gold and silver jewelry. What, her worry about matching metals? She has an Oscar and an Emmy--and she probably catered the party! Ms. Paltrow's leather sandals complete the casually chic look.

Bebe Neuwirth looks old-money fabulous at the premiere of Copper, a TV drama about the Five Points in the 1860s--VERY Gangs of New York. In insouciant black lace with a strand of pearls, Ms. Neuwirth recalls a burlesque dancer of a bygone era, while her flats and leopard-print clutch keep the look very contemporary.

While Katie Holmes and Nicole Kidman reportedly plot exit strategies and dish about Tom Cruise, the actor's first ex-wife has been attending New York movie premieres! Ms. Rogers looks summery with decadent gold accents, but also age-appropriate (in a manner Mr. Cruise's subsequent wives weren't, really!). Ms. Rogers has a role in Hope Springs, as "Carol, the Neighbor"--and hope springs, indeed, that she'll continue her red-carpet trips (and eventually spill some gossip).

Last night in New York, Rene Russo made a strong argument for a comeback in a striking black leather frock that avoids looking like something from a dominatrix's closet with a contrasting melon-colored panel. Ms. Russo, who recently returned to the screen after a long absence in Thor, and who is not actually in the Bourne movie, played the evening's femme fatale without looking like she was wearing a costume--maybe there's room for her in the next sequel?

In a sea of short-hemmed summer frocks, Ms. Rhoda looked elegant in a floor-sweeping taupe number at a Hamptons screening of Robot & Frank hosted by the Cinema Society and RentTheRunway.com. It wasn't exactly basic beige, though--Ms. Rhoda's floor-skimming number was set off by a riot of multicolored jewelry around neck and wrist, fitting the casual mood of the soiree without looking like a beach-day refugee.

Arts patron Alexandra Fairweather looked suitably dressed-up for a screening of a documentary about a dissident; she's at once formally dressed and not overwhelmed by her garment. The insouciant length of her sleeves and the cream shade of both dress and shoes help remind us that the screening is, indeed, taking place in the Hamptons in summer--no need for a big movie-premiere gown!

Wearing neither sequins nor jeans at an event co-hosted by Sequin and Jean Shafiroff, Ms. Gordon strikes the perfect balance between gala-fundraiser fuddy-duddy and summery over-casual. With an oversized, novel sun hat and a simple frock, Ms. Gordon looks as though she came from the beach in the sort of fantasy whereby "coming from the beach" doesn't imply smeary suntan lotion and messed-up hair.

Ms. Koch stopped by the Lincoln Center theater named for her husband, David Koch, looking preternaturally fresh in summery pink. She was celebrating the Paris Opera Ballet with a look that wouldn't be out-of-place on the Champs-Élysées--the unusual neckline and fun, quirky bow couldn't be more delightful! Ms. Koch was bound to be the center of attention at the event anyhow, but now it feels... earned.

Look Like: Nicole Trunfio, Love Heals at Luna Farm

Nicole Trunfio reminds us, here, of Robert Herrick's poem "Delight in Disorder": "A sweet disorder in the dress / Kindles in clothes a wantonness," wrote the poet. He knew whereof he wrote! Ms. Trunfio's artful dishevelment (she's wearing Leila Shams, her publicist informs us!) at one of the summer's biggest charitable events--not to mention the Carrie-ish peek, if one can call it that, at a contrasting dark undergarment--leaves us intrigued! She doesn't quite fit into the groomed crowd at Luna Farm--but boy, does she stick out!
