If a tree falls in the woods and no one puts it on the Frick’s benefit board, does it make a sound? Certainly not a splash: the art museum boasts some of the biggest names on the charity circuit, and their Young Fellows Ball boasts some of the cheapest tickets to rub elbow with these European art swans.

Tis the season to be generous: when all New York’s biggest philanthropies start gearing up for balls, galas, and nightly events to raise money for every cause imaginable. It’s that magical time when a young person must go and prove that they know their junior leagues from their junior committees from their young people’s council.
We’ve always wondered whose job it was to pick out tracks for the runway shows during Fashion Week. We’re assuming it’s the same DJ/intern who has helped designer Dianne von Furstenberg pick out the chicest music for her latest CD, Proud to Be Woman Vol. 3. All benefits go to the charity Vital Voices, which fights for and celebrates women’s rights universally, and which Ms. Furstenberg happens to be on the board of (along with Sally Fields!).
Oh, and Ms. Furstenberg’s intern has much cooler taste in music than you do. Check out the listings below, and listen to some of the tracks available.
